The Daze of Summer

The calendar tells us that the year is 2018 but where do we stand on God’s timeline? Many bible scholars and theologians debate over the obvious signs but the question is not a new one. The disciples pressed Jesus on the issue and the Lord gave them an answer.

Matthew 24:3-5 KJV — And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

We have witnessed odeception over the last 4 decades involving some prominent religious leaders such as Jim & Tammy Faye Baker, Jimmy Swaggart not to mention the tragic events surrounding the Reverend Jim Jones and David Koresh which involved the deaths of their followers who believed in their false teachings. Despite these events and the sex scandals that plagued the Bakers and Swaggart many still live with the belief that it was only an unfortunate coincidence.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 KJV — This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

As ‘The Boys of Summer’ continue their battle with the curve ball, LeBron James changed addresses…again and the chase for the Lombardi Trophy has begun with the NFL still not knowing if the players should kneel, stand or stay in the locker room during the National Anthem. The purpose of the so called “protest” has lost it’s muster and soon more fans may bail if the league can’t regain the unity it once had.

The leaders of our country, the mainstream media and other agenda driven organizations still cannot grasp the concept of telling the truth. What the apostle Paul wrote in 2nd Timothy is becoming reality right before our very eyes. Democrats are still crying foul over an election botched by their own actions, James Comey and Hillary Clinton have written books trying to explain their indiscretions and wanting the general public to sympathize and think of them as victims. Somehow their version of the truth seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Entering into it’s third year, the Russian collusion investigation has still not produced any results and most likely never will.

The negative campaign continues toward conservatives and Godly people but hope still survives. The Lord is still giving us time to set the record straight. Continuous prayer and applying God’s word to our lives will give us the direction we need to navigate through these troubling times. There is no doubt that we have entered into the final stages of the end times. Jesus told his disciples and is telling us that these days are coming. We must seek out the truth and that truth is Jesus Christ.

Matthew 24:13-14 KJV — But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
