To Believe or Not to Believe

Why is it so hard for people to believe that God is real and that He is with us always. He created a beautiful planet for us to live in and despite all of mankind’s faults and disobedience He loved us so much that He gave His only begotten son so that if we believe in Him we would have everlasting life. Yet, God is banned from our schools, frowned upon if you live by His principles and if you’re brave enough to admit that Jesus talks to you then you’re accused of being crazy and suffer from mental illness.

Some recent comments on social media suggest that God being part of the solution to the ails that plague our society is not what the world needs;

“I do not believe in your god. I do not believe in someone who will create his children and then send them to a burning hell. I do believe in a whole universe which is god itself; a creation of all, from which we come and to which we return. It is peace, love, honor and beauty. It is also each in opposition. In my world, our lives are to become the best we can be and to help others along their way. Some will be judged by others as evil and some evil will be judged by others as wanting in help. Regardless of our label, we will come from and return to the universe.”

“Reading books about dead people and asking God to do things haven’t been and aren’t working. I’m sorry you’re blind. It doesn’t matter. These kids will change the world, regardless of whether or not you are part of it. Just get out of the way.”

Both statements were made over the American Flag and gun control issues our nation is facing and yet, instead of offering a solution that could be examined, both commentators chose to dismiss God and express their “new age,” and globalistic philosophy.

1 John 5:10-12 NKJV — He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

God gave us the ability to choose the path we will follow. Unfortunately, many will choose the path that many have chosen. An easy path of selfishness, self adoration and notoriety that can leave your life empty. God is talking to us everyday. We just have to take the time to stop, read the bible and pray with an open heart and prepare ourselves to receive His divine instruction and wisdom. We must put our faith into action and trust that the Lord is there to help us.

God speaks to His people through His holy word and promises, as He did in the book of John, that He will never leave us. Being a believer and follower of Christ is not a sign of mental illness, it is a sign of courage and confidence in knowing that we have victory in Jesus. Don’t let anyone tell you that God is not real. Look around you, someone created the sky, sun and the stars. God created it all and He created you and His love for you is never ending.

1 John 5:13 NKJV — These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
