Ripples

2 Timothy 4:1-4 NKJV — I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

The first drops of water are beginning to fall on the aftermath of a tsunami that never came. The “Blues” couldn’t find the right groove and the “Reds” had a few hits but no clear winner was awarded and now the United States, as well as the world, awaits the next tide of action our leaders are planning to take. What is really ahead of us? Will we be living our lives productively and most importantly living for God or will we be waiting for someone to come along to promise everything we ever wanted and will we be able to pay the cost? The world’s future may not be as bright as we think.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 NKJV — But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Over the last 30 years we have witnessed a tendency to believe anything that sounds credible and if it’s spun in the right direction most people never seem to question the validity of their claims. Unscrupulous leaders and teachers that tell us it’s ok to break the law as long as it serves “their” common good and does not interfere with “their” monetary bottom line. Open borders, legalizing illegal drugs and using a nickname to sound more hispanic is one way to convince people and raising over 70 million dollars proves how gullible voters can be in believing in a losing campaign.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 NKJV — Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

To believe in something is not always a bad thing but there is someone who will soon appear on the world’s stage and will present himself as the answer to all the world’s troubles. The door has already been opened for someone to cease the opportunity to lead the world into a fatal confrontation with the Lord Jesus Christ and the ultimate losing campaign to defeat God. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 NKJV — For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

The outcome will not end well for this world leader and all those who will follow him. We must put our lives in the trust and protection of our Lord Jesus and know that He will deliver us from those who choose to deceive and lead us away from God.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 NKJV — Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.
