2 Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV — For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
It was the crack of dawn! Okay, it was about 8am but for an 11 year old on a Saturday, it was the crack of dawn! Dad was ready to take on the world. Well, at least the neighborhood. This was the year, we were going to be number one! The house with the most outstanding yard. The home association had began their annual competitionof neighbor vs. neighbor and who would maintain and have the best looking yard on Labor Day weekend. That’s when the contest would end. The prize, an all out Texas size bar-b-que at the community pool in honor of the winners and a trophy.
It was June 1st. Me and my brother were looking forward to our first day out of school and sleeping until noon. Nope, Dad wouldn’t have it, he was going to show the Hendersons and the Montgomerys that we, the Aldantés, were the ones to beat. Dad could taste those ribs now. Why does it always seem like the grass is greener on the other side of the road? Do we really know what it takes to achieve that perfect yard? The days, months and years we put into it and yet, we feel that no one cares or even understands the time and effort we have put into our little corner of the world. “There must be a shortcut to this, what’s your secret?” There are many who believe that hard work and following rules are not the answer. Becoming rich and successful only happened by chance and privilege. Rules and laws must be made to prevent this from happening. Our country’s good fortune should not be wasted.
The Government should tell you how and where to live. Traveling by ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ should only be done by government approval and with the proper paperwork and the food we eat should be regulated to just supplements and more prescriptions. “Soylent Green” anyone? Sounds a lot like some people want to rule with an iron fist and believe that living in Cold War East Berlin, the Soviet Union, Cuba, China or Venezuela would be the way to live. How can this, after so many years of fighting this kind of oppression, be right? What exactly do these new Socialist Democrats have in mind with their master ‘’Green” plan? Is the grass really “greener” on their side of the road?
1 Timothy 1:7-10 NKJV — desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,
In recent days we have started to witness the implosion of the once political party of the people, the Democratic Party and before we go too far let us not forget that the Republican Party have their own problems also and are right on the heels of the Democrats.
Democratic leaders in Virginia, the Governor, Lt. Governor and the Attorney General are in the midst of scandalous controversies involving racism and sexual assault, a Democratic Presidential candidate who has been documented and proven of lying on applications about being a native american, Democratic legislators in the state of New York passing a bill approving late 3rd trimester abortions and Democratic leaders in Congress still refusing to negotiate for border security and keeping the government open for business.
2 Peter 2:1 NKJV — But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
If history has taught us anything then we should know that communism, socialism, dictatorships and ungodly regimes only flourish for a short time before their greed and lustful desires destroy them from within. Mankind’s ways will never measure up to God’s eternal plan. Jesus came into this world to give us everlasting life and peace in our hearts. Jesus gave us this promise and reassurance;
John 14:1-4 NKJV — “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. “And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
It is a fact that the United States was founded for liberty and freedom. The freedom to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob which is protected by the Constitution. Socialism does not allow that freedom or any other freedom that allows you to pursue happiness. Let Jesus be the center of your life and continue to pray that wisdom and common sense will guide our leaders instead of a shortcut to destruction. Remember, people who tell you that the grass is “greener” without God on their side will never tell you what it will cost you to achieve the “green” they are offering.
2 Peter 2:9-12 NKJV — then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority.
