Matthew 23:25-26 NKJV — “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. “Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Being a former TV news videotape editor you can see how easily video can be manipulated. Watching the editorials that air on the cable and national networks leaves the average TV viewer amazed on how all the comments made are all the same. Some of the editing leaves a lot to be desired but the funny thing about it, you find that the video doesn’t need to be manipulated. If you were to take any interview at length you will find that the people who are in the spotlight are all on the same page. How does this happen? Why are they saying the same thing?

It’s so commonplace now days that we hardly even think about how many people can be on screen at one time to talk about an agenda for just 4 minutes. You would think that all you would hear is noise but exactly the opposite is taking place. The “Cup” they present looks shiny and new, they claim that it’s overflowing with promises, love and peace. Sounds terrific so we listen in and then…like a dishonest girlfriend or boyfriend (depending on whoever is reading this 😀) all you hear are lies, accusations and class supremacy. The “Cup” is overflowing with hate.
Exodus 23:1-2 NKJV — “You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. “You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.
Labels such as white supremacist, nazi, antagonist and other not so pleasant ones being thrown out there is what we hear mostly coming from one side of the spectrum. Like an all out blitz they fill the screen saying that, beyond the shadow of a doubt, they are telling us the truth and yet never producing the evidence to back up their claims. The news media and social media has given a platform to those who insist that their socialist, racist and violence is the way to live. If someone disagrees then there must be something wrong with them. Is God ever offered as a solution? The left and the ungodly have said that prayers are not welcomed only silence and obedience to the policies they propose.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV — For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
Can the truth ever be told in the current atmosphere that we are in? Sore losers and spoil sports clouding the future and dissolving our dreams into nightmares. The aftermath of the Dayton and El Paso shootings is bringing out the worst in the media and liberals. We are seeing a civil war between right and left and we are no closer to an end. Unfortunately, if you are a believer in Christ, the wave of hate could be headed your way. Jesus predicted what would happen in the last days;
Matthew 24:9-12 NKJV — “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Sounds dreadful but He also gave us this reassurance;
Matthew 24:13-14 NKJV — “But he who endures to the end shall be saved. “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Jesus, in His own words, reminds us that times will get harder and more intense for all of us. We need to realize that this is not avoidable. The deterioration of the press, government and society is moving at a pace of a high speed NASCAR race with no brakes available leading to total destruction. Watch any news program and the pundits you see are all the same. The Apostle Paul describes these people in his second letter to Timothy;
2 Timothy 3:1-7 NKJV — But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The war between the states of mind rages on and maybe it’s time to change the channel. God is not being lifted up and the “Cup” they are presenting would not be used in your favorite restaurant. The Golden Rule is no longer relevant in the world but Jesus is there to deliver us from the grasp of the enemy. The Word of God is very clear on how we should treat each other and by our fruits people will know who we are and whom we represent. Pray for the Lord’s direction and protection during these perilous times. Be reassured that the Lord has prepared a home for you in His glorious Kingdom.
Psalm 23:5-6 NKJV — You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.
