Empty Gardens.

Genesis 1:1 NKJV — In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

.

Genesis 1:11-12 NKJV — Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

The world has changed…again. The would of, could of and should of cliché about seeing this happening seems to apply with the current pandemic we are experiencing. As we “shelter-in-place and stay-at-home,” our government leaders and the media tell us that we should lock ourselves away in the effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 a.k.a. the Coronavirus. The measures being implemented are with good intentions but these measures can also be misinterpreted and abused. We all do our part to help but what are we missing?

Looking out our collective windows, we ask ourselves, will we ever be free to walk on our city streets again? Television and the internet bombard us with images of emptiness. Cities, malls, parks and vacation spots are void of activity.

Empty Streets

.

Like an old apocalyptic sci-fi movie, cities around the world are empty, including Disneyworld. God created a world where we could live, be fruitful and multiply but somehow we have made it a place where it’s dangerous to go outside.

Our houses of worship have even gone silent. The “climate” change we are having is something most people didn’t expect or did they? Since the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, mankind has been on a path of destruction and annihilation in the hope of creating a peaceful utopia without God. What the unrighteous and the ungodly don’t understand is that no matter what solution they have to solve our current crisis, without the guidance and wisdom that the Lord provides, their “cure” will be short-lived and will still leave them unprepared for the next one.

Many leftist groups will claim that global warming, melting polar caps and racism is the reason why COVID-19 has stricken so many throughout the world. The Coronavirus has proven that it does not discriminate against the victimes it strikes. Rich, poor, black, white or any ethnic background, young or old, we all are accessible to the virus. The claims that globalists make are proof that they are not based on verifiable science, just on speculation and conjecture.

COVID-19, the Coronavirus, is a man-made pandemic. Whether it was released accidentally or purposely will be debated from here on out, we will also be measured on what we accomplished during this worldwide shutdown. Did we shelter in fear or did we reinforce our faith and rededicate our relationship with the Lord? When the shutdown ends, will we be prepared to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Social distancing may be the necessary action for now but it doesn’t compare to the gathering and fellowship with others that we have grown accustomed to. Many may argue that church services and prayer meetings are not necessary or essential but Jesus tells us why we should gather together.

.

Matthew 18:18-20 NKJV — “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

.

There is peace and security when we are in the presence of God and we should not forget that, at least here in the United States, it is our constitutional right to freely worship God and gather in our religious sanctuaries. We all have suffered a blow because of the Coronavirus but we must be reliant on the Lord to give us the strength and direction so that we can take the next steps in our daily lives.

Shortly after the ascension of the Lord, the disciples went into their own “shelter-in-place” order in the Upper Room while they awaited the gift of the Holy Spirit and instruction on how to proceed. Then the Word of the Lord came forth;

.

Acts 2:17-21 NKJV — ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,

That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your young men shall see visions,

Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days;

And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above

And signs in the earth beneath:

Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the LORD

Shall be saved.’

.

A powerful prophecy spoken by Peter but this prophecy is even more applicable to the days we are living in.

Our “garden” may be empty and struggling to revive but it’s only a temporary condition. This is an event that we should pay attention to. Our society can be interrupted instantly and someone can be ushered in as a so-called, “messiah” of the world who will force a world to receive a mark on their hand or forehead, as Microsoft founder Bill Gates seems to support, just to buy and trade to survive.

.

There will be an outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit In these latter days and it may be very well that we are at the starting block for a sprint to the finish while a harvest of souls are being saved for the Kingdom of God.

The road ahead is not uncertain as long as we put our belief and trust in the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ. Keep these words from the Apostle Peter close to your heart and may God’s peace be with you always.

.

1 Peter 5:6-11 NKJV — Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
