Matthew 9:37-38 NKJV — Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

We have seen the empty streets, empty playgrounds, empty schools and empty shelves at the grocery stores. The crisis we have experienced has tested all of us but somehow we have found a way to persevere. There is something else that has been tested, our faith. Particularly pastors and church leaders whom walk up to the podium or pulpit and experience a scene like this one;

It’s an image most pastors are not accustomed to. Yet, every Sunday they deliver a message to a congregation that is tuned in by a live internet streaming service. With social gatherings being held down by local and state governments, many religious organizations have resorted to other avenues to present the Gospel to their parishioners.

The internet has become the place for people to worship together. That also means potential worldwide exposure for smaller, local ministries and that could be laying the groundwork for a global revival. One that could have a greater impact than all that have come before.

.

We have witnessed revivals such as the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida also others in Melbourne, Australia and Toronto, Ontario. These revivals such as other revivals of the past have often been constrained by limits that the next big one may not suffer. For instance, when revivals of the past meeting in one location exploded into bigger and longer events, they often burned out the staff but as we see in this pandemic, ministries now meeting online aren’t confined to church walls. As the name says, the worldwide web means a single revival could go global.

Acts 2:16-21 NKJV — “But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,

That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your young men shall see visions,

Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days;

And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above

And signs in the earth beneath:

Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the LORD

Shall be saved.’

Turbulent and perilous times we are experiencing and for decades the message has been preached to many but the Lord wanted us to preach the Gospel in all the world and many asked, “How can this be done?” Many believed that only big name ministries and large Christian television networks were the only means of getting the Good News out to the world but since the birth of the digital age in the latter part of the 20th Century all that has changed.

Since the stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders took into action, many people have taken time to self-reflect their personal lives and have used the technology provided to them to receive the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ into their very homes. People in countries such as Russia, China, Saudi Arabia and Libya, who in the past, have been reluctant to Christianity are finding ways to hear the Gospel. Even though these powerful governments censor the internet, the digital age is giving ministries an opportunity to workaround authoritarian regimes.

Many have given into the fear that the worldwide mainstream media has been propagating the past few months. Some believe that the end of the world is upon us and there is no hope for the life we had grown accustomed to. This pandemic has become a tool for the devil to use and try to shut down Christian activity around the world. Prayer and receiving God’s wisdom on how to continue our worship of the Lord and fellowship with other believers has led us to this extraordinary path to revival around the world.

Christians throughout the world are anxious to get back what the enemy is fighting so hard to steal away – our freedom. Freedom to worship God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. There are rulers and politicians who will try to bargain with you and will try to get you to believe that God is imaginary, irrelevant and unrealistic. Their way is the only path to follow. If only we would give up on God and worship the god of their flesh as they do then we could all live in harmony believing the lies they have bonded us to. Satan tried to tempt Jesus with the same proposition;

.

Matthew 4:8-10 NKJV — Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

.

Our answer should be the same. We should do all we can to stay healthy but we must also pray for one another that the Lord will shield us from any and all sickness.

A revival is coming and the harvest will be great. Pray and encourage others to pray for this mighty move of God that was prophesied in the 2nd chapter of Acts. We must also be reminded of what Jesus told His disciples of what would happen in these latter days. Our world has changed. We must pray for strength to endure any trial that lays before us.

.

Matthew 24:4-14 NKJV — And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. “But he who endures to the end shall be saved. “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
