A Sign In The Sky

.

Genesis 9:11-16 NKJV — “Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: “I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. “It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; “and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. “The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

It seems that in these turbulent times we forget about the sign God gave us. A covenant He made to remind us that even though storms are necessary, they are only temporary and they soon will pass. There will not be a catastrophic glacial meltdown that will wipe Florida off the map or will the sea occupy half of Asia. If we read the writings of Ezekiel, Daniel and John, the Revelator, we will find no evidence of another global flood. At least not a flood caused by the waters of the Earth but it does point to a flood of rebellion and sin caused by mankind. Jesus spoke of this to His disciples as well as unto us.

Matthew 24:6-8 NKJV — “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Because we are witnessing these events, we panic and start looking for a place to hide. We are so certain that our world is going to collapse that we reach out to anyone or anything that will ease our burden. Instead of prayer and supplication before the Lord to receive guidance and seek out those with the Anointing of God, we choose to rely on our own knowledge and understanding. What we don’t see or fail to recognize is “the wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing.”

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NKJV — For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Choosing The Genuine Article

Many come in the name of Christ and while some are genuine and true, there are many who are not. Some don’t have to be preachers, prophets or evangelists. They can be potential suitors, mates or companions with seducing spirits that will lead you away from the calling God has on your life. The “tickling of the ears” is what people fall for because they can’t discern from the truth and falsehoods. They promise that there’s that fabled “pot of gold” at the end of the rainbow when really all they are offering is shallow words and empty promises. For some the brokenness is too much to bear. Alcoholism, domestic violence, homicides and suicides have all risen dramatically in the past 7 months since the COVID-19 pandemic crisis began. Extramarital affairs and predatory connections have occured due to not being able to properly screen someone’s background. In these latter days fear and deception have become the favorite tools for the devil to use just to trip up Christians and give up the faith. Jesus, once again, warned us about these practices being performed.

.

Matthew 24:4-5 NKJV — And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

.

Matthew 24:11-12 NKJV — “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

.

Matthew 24:23-24 NKJV — “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

In these passages found in Matthew 24, Jesus is very specific about us having to beware of those who claim they know and walk with God but have no presence of the Anointing of God upon them.

.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 NKJV — But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

A Reminder from God

.

A world without God cannot offer a solution to whatever ails you. We hear our leaders, politicians, families and those we call our closest confidants telling us that the promised land is somewhere over the rainbow but the roadmap directing us to it is confusing and only they know how to read it. What they are missing is a G.P.S. – God’s Perfect Son – Jesus Christ. By accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour and putting all your trust in Him can you find the peace and direction to make it through any trial and tribulation this world may throw at you. Ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit and receive all that He has for you including the gift of discernment so that you may be able to know when someone comes along and tries to sell you a bill of goods.

The TV, the internet even your cell phone will always tell you, “Hi, have I got the answer for you!” But it may not be what you are looking for. It may be time to pause and take a minute to open the Word of God and let the Holy Spirit guide you on what to read and have the peace you need. The Lord will bring you the right person for your life and lead you to the right church and ministry you need to have fellowship and spiritual growth in your life. The rainbow you see in the sky should always be a reminder that God is always present and that no matter what storm you are experiencing, trust in Him and the Anointing of His Holy Spirit. Always know that the Lord Jesus Christ is with you and His covenant with you will never be broken.

God’s Covenant Will Always Be

1 John 2:18-29 NKJV — Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
