Luke 12:54-57 NKJV — Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. “And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. “Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

No Wind to Sail By
·
It was supposed to be a three hour tour. A relaxing short cruise. A picture perfect end to a vacation before going back to the day to day grind of making a living. Putting our trust and safety in a “Skipper” and a “First Mate.” To sail the open sea and bring us back to a safe harbor and back to our “normal” lives. – Then the weather started getting rough and the ship was caught in a storm. We looked to the crew of the boat for instruction but they seemed dazed and confused. We held on for dear life and somehow we landed on a deserted island.
·
Stranded Miles Away
·
The scenario sounds a lot like an old 60’s sitcom but somehow it sounds a lot like what we are going through right now. Going through a storm of “pandemic” proportions, a controversial, suspicious election with many hurt feelings. Riots, racial violence and civil unrest that led to the storming of the Capitol building in Washington D.C.
·
All of this and when we washed up on the shore of the deserted island, we found that our world had turned upside down with a “Skipper’ telling us that our opinions, way of life and freedoms are the reason we were marooned and only his way is the path for rescue. Somehow the people leading us look a lot like these people;

Gilligan’s Island – Courtesy of CBS
·
Maybe it’s too harsh to compare our elected leaders to the cast of Gilligan’s Island but like the characters of the show, our leaders, who submit to the “political” religion, have no idea on how to lead a troubled nation to redemption. It’s enough to make us make due with what we’ve got and do what we can. – So who’s to blame for this predicament we find ourselves in? We saw the storm coming…did anyone ask the meteorologist what the weather was going to be like? We are finding that our leaders are not “owning” up for their fatal decisions.
·
Matthew 7:1-5 NKJV — “Judge not, that you be not judged. “For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? “Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

A Mishandled Crisis
·
The COVID-19 tsunami hit the United States like a runaway freight train. Starting in the People’s Republic of China and spreading like a wildfire throughout Asia, the Middle East and Europe. While the “the Man at the Helm” at the time tried to prepare everyone for the onslaught of the virus, many congressional, state and local leaders seemed so preoccupied with playing political volleyball that when the pandemic made landfall, many were caught unprepared.
·
Empty Streets
·
New York City and the state of New York became ground zero for the invasion of the virus. Many cases arose including many deaths by elderly patients that were placed in understaffed and ill prepared nursing homes by order from Governor Andrew Cuomo. Highly criticized by this move, now Governor Cuomo is being ridiculed for this disastrous decision because of a recently released report by the New York State Attorney General.
·
According to the report, the deaths that were tabulated were 50 percent higher than was officially reported at the end of 2020. Governor Cuomo, in a press conference held on January 26, 2021, could not clearly give a reason for the obscured numbers but was quick to place blame for the problems plaguing his administration. Blaming the Federal Government and the Trump Administration were the easiest and obvious choices but there was one who he blamed that took many by surprise.
·
Governor Andrew Cuomo
“I understand the pain. I understand the search for answers. But it was a tragedy, and I feel the anguish and I feel the pain. And I get the anger. My father died. I wish I had someone to blame. It would have made me feel better, maybe.”
·
Then Governor Cuomo added this parting shot;
“But they are in my thoughts and prayers. I believe… why COVID? Why did God do this? I don’t know. I don’t know. But it was cruel and it was terrible and it still is.”
·
Laying the blame at the feet of God would seem to be something you would see in a bad scene from The Sopranos or Breaking Bad but Governor Cuomo chose God because he did not have the fear of consequence for his statement. There are many who feel that an investigation and criminal charges should be brought against the Governor for dereliction of duty and manslaughter. To bring these charges and Cuomo to a court of law is highly unlikely given the current political climate. Only the public and an unbiased media may have the final say on the future of Governor Cuomo.

Different Channel, Same Content

2 Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV — For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
·
It seems that since 1988 we have kept changing the channels but we kept running into the same old TV re-runs. No matter what we try to find truth, justice and enlightenment, we still find ourselves marooned on that island. Conspiracy theories, QAnon – (another theory dealing with elements of satanism that some believe is true), life threatening accusations and hysteria are ruling the day. Social media has opened a door and given people, especially those looking for political power, an avenue to make claims intended to hurt those who oppose their ideals and beliefs.

An Troubling Day
·
January 6, 2021 was a day that Congress convened to certify and confirm the Electoral College vote that would officially name Joe Biden as President of the United States. What Congress and the mainstream media did not expect was a crowd that numbered in the thousands marching on Capitol Hill in protest. Though the protest was mostly peaceful, unfortunately some members of ANTIFA and other anti-government groups infiltrated the protest and incited a riot. Causing mayhem and the deaths of 5 people and many others injured. The infiltration was meant to give a “black eye” to the conservative movement and send a message that no one one, right or left, was safe. It also was a reminder of a very important biblical proverb that the power elite chose to discard;
·
Galatians 6:7 NKJV — Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
·
What progressive pundits and self-serving opinion hawks did not realize is that their biased, hatred laced rhetoric, which has been a staple on news media outlets since 2016, was going to take a heavy toll on the american psyche. The violence was widely condemned by many in the United States and internationally but it was a far cry from the silence that was issued when cities like Minneapolis and Portland were set ablaze with the same experts along with the left wing leaders telling the public that “there was nothing to see there.” – But the delusion of the left is getting worse. The chances of getting off this deserted island is getting very slim.
·
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) New York
“I thought I was going to die. I hear these huge violent bangs on my door and then every door going into my office. . . like someone was trying to break the door down. I thought everything was over.”
·
Those were the words of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, (D) New York, during an emotional Instagram Live video, recounting her experience during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, that left her “traumatized.” She also claimed that in the days leading up to January 6, she had been confronted in public by Trump supporters, and had received text messages, some from other members of Congress warning her to be careful, particularly on the 6th.
·
Rep. Nancy Mace (R) South Carolina
·
After Ocasio-Cortez said in the video that she “had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die,” Representative Nancy Mace (R) from South Carolina and others called Ocasio-Cortez out by noting that rioters never entered her office building. In an interview with Fox News Radio’s “Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla,” Mace accused Ocasio-Cortez of exaggerating what happened for political gain. Mace added that her office is “two doors down from Ocasio-Cortez and no insurrectionists stormed our hallway,” Mace talking about their Cannon House Office Building that’s connected to the Capitol.

Remaining Marooned
·
The Twitter wars and despairing remarks between the congressional leaders continue and like our friendly castaways, the message of unity and better construction is starting to collapse into ruin and we may never find a way to return to the normalcy we desire. The agenda of the leftist-progressive globalist way is getting harder to read and understand. Is there hope of a rescue or has our fate already been sealed because we have pushed God to the side of the road?
·
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 NKJV — The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
·
We have seen the glorification of alternate lifestyles, racial injustice and murder – let’s be honest, sin is what is being exalted and the path has been laid for someone to lead us to eternal peril.
·
Shipwrecked But Salvageable
·
Our circumstances may seem dire but we do have an ally on this uncharted desert isle where we find ourselves;
·
John 14:15-18 NKJV — “If you love Me, keep My commandments. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

A Temporary Address
·
We, as believers and followers of Jesus Christ, must never forget that He is with us always and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can find the resources we need to endure the hostile climate that is surrounding us. The island we are on does not have to be our final destination. Gilligan, Mary Ann and the rest of the castaways had a small radio that they were able to use to keep up with current events and have the hope for a rescue. The Holy Bible – the true Word of God – is the “radio” we need to help us understand the will of God and the plan He has for us if we believe and accept His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Our currency has the words “In God We Trust,” and now, more than ever, is the time to do so. The Lord loves you and has a home waiting for you if you let Him into your heart. He is knocking on your door, let Him in.
·
John 14:1-6 NKJV — “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. “And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Continue to look to the Word of God. In a catastrophe love and respect for one another is essential. Bringing up our children in the ways of the Bible is a way to guide their hearts and minds. We may not be in a peaceable solution, but we can still live peaceable with all men. The Word warns of catastrophic times, and provides a solution to these coming days.
Love the Lord with all thy heart, and love thy neighbor as thyself.
