“Silver and Gold…”

Healing at the Temple

Acts 3:1-8 NKJV — Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

Recently someone posted this question on a social media site, “Is there a limit on how many miracles one can ask for?” – A curious question considering it came from a person who thought of themselves as not worthy of one or any at all. The answer to this question is a simple and gentle – no.

The grace and mercy is limitless from our Lord if only we humble ourselves and turn to Him.

Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV — “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Restoration and reassurance is what the Lord will give us if we only accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. Many are reluctant to make that choice because they feel the life of a believer and follower of Christ is too restrictive. “Too many ‘don’ts’ and too many rules, how can I live a satisfying life with all of that?” – It’s a common question asked by many who are looking for answers and solutions in their troubled lives.

The present Coronavirus pandemic has caused many to reflect and evaluate the meaning of life and their own mortality. “Is there life after death? Is heaven a real place?” – Yes, there is life after death but where we spend eternity is decided on the life altering choices we make here on Earth. Jesus was crucified for the remission of our sins and then rose from the dead 3 days later so we would have victory over death. Life eternal would be ours through Jesus Christ. All we have to do is believe.

John 3:16-17 NKJV — “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

It seems simple enough and it really is. If we come with a repentant heart and confess Jesus is Lord, our eternal reward will be great.

Romans 10:9-13 NKJV — that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

The world is desperately looking for an answer to their question, “When it’s all said and done, is there something waiting for me at the end of the line? I mean, I’ve believed in God, isn’t that enough?” – Jesus gave us this assurance.

John 14:1-3 NKJV — “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

We have seen that our world can change in an instant. The spoils and treasures in life can be taken away and everything we have ever worked for can be rendered “nonessential” and leave us isolated where the devil can attack your mind and self-esteem. The enemy will make you feel that you are powerless and there is no hope in sight…but the Lord is the light at the end of this dark tunnel we are going through.

We want to be free from the troubles in our lives but only Jesus has the solution we are seeking. We must remember, the devil is the author of confusion and fear. The tearing down of families, moral decency and truthfulness is manifesting itself and is encouraging people to walk away from God. If this is the tactic being taken then there must be a reason why we should turn to God and live a righteous life.

An invitation is being given to you to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. He is at the door of your heart waiting for you to open and let Him in. If there is anything this worldwide crisis has taught us, time is running short and sooner than we want to believe, we must decide what our fate will be. Jesus loves you and wants to heal your heart and give you peace everlasting.

If you have already received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour then continually pray for those in need and that the Lord watch over you and loved ones during this time of crisis and at all times. – For those who are wanting to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour please read aloud the following prayer of salvation;

Heavenly Father,

I come to You from the depths of my heart, realizing I have sinned. I repent of my sins and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died on the cross for me and my sins. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. Lord Jesus, come into my heart and live in me now. I receive by faith You as my personal Lord and Saviour. I receive Your Holy Spirit as my Comforter to help me to obey You and do Your will. It’s in Jesus’ name that I believe and receive the things prayed this day.

-AMEN.

Welcome Home

Like the man healed at the temple, you are now free from what has held you captive. You are a new and changed person in the Lord. May God be with you and bless you always. You are born again!

1 Peter 1:23-25 NKJV — having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because

“All flesh is as grass,

And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.

The grass withers,

And its flower falls away,  But the word of the LORD endures forever.”

Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
