Luke 2:1-7 NKJV — And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
“No room for them in the Inn.” This troubling dilemma faced Mary and Joseph at the very moment the baby Jesus was to be born. No place to stay, no rooms, if no arrangements had been made before arriving then the chances of having a place to rest were very slim. Fortunately, there was a manger.
Many travelers have experienced the “no vacancy” blues. No matter what they tried, money, extra money and special favors just never worked. “Sorry, you’re just not welcomed here. Try the next town. Check back with us after our 5 year waiting list concludes.” When you’re not welcomed, you’re not welcomed. Even when you have what everyone needs. Lately, the world seems to be telling God that He is no longer wanted or needed in our lives. Hosea 4:6 NKJV — My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children
Instruction from the Word of God has been the non preferred choice of the world. Bible teaching and principles are now being labeled as the teaching of hate, intolerance and irrelevant in today’s society. When Vice President Mike Pence professed that he and his wife were practicing Christians and that the Lord speaks to him, he was labeled by talk show host Joy Behar as being mentally ill. In recent days, his wife, Karen Pence announced that she was returning to Immanuel Christian School, a private K-8 elementary school that is a part of the Immanuel Bible Church, to teach art part-time to students.
Civil rights and LGBTQ activists, including most recently Lady Gaga, criticized the Second Lady’s new position because the school explicitly “refused admission” to students who do not live according to the “biblical lifestyle” — which means no rough-and-tumble homosexual or bisexual activity. Likewise, the school discriminates against job applicants who do not “live a life of moral purity;” disqualifying conduct includes everything from “lesbian sexual activity” to “transgender identity” to “heterosexual activity outside of marriage.”
Legally, Immanuel Christian School can discriminate against the LGBTQ community. Virginia, in addition to 38 other states, does not prohibit private workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Lady Gaga may not be happy but in the United States, standing up for Christ and biblical principles is not a crime. Not understanding the rights of a private entity, particularly in this case, still doesn’t stop the verbal abuse circular groups administer. Still, the sign the world is giving reads, “There’s No Room for God.”
Matthew 23:27-28 NKJV — “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
God is now being asked to not be present in court or when an elected official takes an oath of office. A draft of a new committee rules package will strike the phrase, “So help me God,” from the oath that witnesses take when they testify before the House Committee on Natural Resources. As reported by Fox News, the draft shows that the House Committee on Natural Resources would ask witnesses to recite only, “Do you solemnly swear or affirm, under penalty of law, that the testimony that you are about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?” The rules proposal places the words “so help you God” in red brackets, indicating they are slated to be cut. The words “under penalty of law” are in red text, indicating that Democrats propose to add that phrasing to the oath.
Furthermore, the new rules package eliminate any use of gender pronouns. The draft replaces the phrase “his or her,” to “their.” All references to the committee’s “Chairman” will be changed to the committee’s “Chair.” If the words, “Under penalty of law” are ever taken out then telling the truth is not important but only if the witness can give a plausible story. A common practice usually displayed in Family Court.
Romans 1:17-18 NKJV — For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
God’s Holy Word instructs us on how to live and how we are to treat others including our enemies. The world does not want to be held responsible for their actions. They believe that no matter what the circumstances are, as long as they come out smelling like a rose then they should be held blameless. In the book of Revelation we are told what we will face;
Revelation 20:11-15 NKJV — Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire
We all will face judgement and the Word of God tells us that it’s unavoidable. The world or at least those who choose not to follow the Lord, seem content to live life without God. By putting their fate in the hands of global fatalist is like playing a game of “Russian Roulette” with their eternal souls.
We must pray for those who are lost and need the salvation of Jesus Christ. We have to make room for God and allow Him to be the leader of our lives, accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour to secure our promise of a place waiting for us. If we don’t make room for God then God will have no room for us.
Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV — “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
