2 Timothy 3:1-3 NKJV — But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
We live in a world where it is too easy to accept compromise and the alternative than to accept what is right. Breaking boundaries, falsely accusing others without producing a shred of legitimate proof, rewriting history and the continuing shaking of the world’s fist(s) at God and telling Him to leave us alone.
On Monday night, September 17, 2018, the celebrities of Hollywood expressed their opposing views towards conservatives, Republicans and Christians, which also became racially biased.
The 70th Annual Emmy Award Show began with the usual political banter but it took a bad turn during Michael Che’s opening monologue. During the monologue, Che explained why his mother would not be watching the show, “My mother is not watching,” Che said. “She says she doesn’t like watching white award shows because you guys don’t thank Jesus enough, that’s true,” he continued. “The only white people that thank Jesus are Republicans and ex-crackheads.”
Che’s remarks immediately stirred backlash on social media. “Very poor taste and not funny at all! By the way Michael Che, I am white, I thank Jesus all day, I am not republican and I have never done crack in my life. “ one viewer exclaimed. Another responded by saying, “Disgusting!!!! Shame on these celebs! Thankful I don’t watch these garbage award shows!”
The message conveyed by Hollywood is unfortunately one of hate. Their credibility becomes questionable when celebrities, producers and movie studio moguls believe that God and Jesus are the easy targets for their comedic humor. In the book of Romans the Apostle Paul describes people who act this way and how they are perceived;
Romans 1:20-22 NKJV — For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools,
In the infancy of television it was a common practice not to include people being interviewed to give thanks to God for any accomplishment that was achieved. In the mid 1960’s, when the emphasis on “Live” and “Exclusive” TV coverage became the normal operation for TV, it became harder to exclude people from thanking God, Jesus or “The Powers That Be” as part of that coverage. Now it seems that the Leftist Elite want to go back to the early days of television, which ironically, racial division and violence also existed.
It may be the world’s desire to live without God but the reality of that desire is unthinkable for many followers of Jesus Christ. From an industry that is known for racial non-equality, srxual scandals, drug abuse and the mistreatment of women is in no position to lecture the American public of what is proper in today’s society.
Loving God, thanking God for your blessings is not a crime. We live in a country that believes in religious freedom and a Constitution that protects that freedom. Jesus loves everyone from every race and does not deny anyone who believes and follows Him.
Luke 6:35-38 NKJV — “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. “Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
