The disciples had grown anxious, Jesus had prophesied about the temple, but they wanted more. They wanted to know about the end of days and what would be the signs of His return.
Matthew 24:3-5 NKJV — Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
A warning not only to them, but to us also as we are in the days that we are living in. Our leaders, politicians, teachers, law enforcers and the media have all been involved in leading the masses in false information and creating an atmosphere of mistrust.
Like game show hosts, they come on the air and proclaim that they have the answer to all our problems and offer the real truth when all it is is an opinion of someone else’s analogy. Jesus also told His disciples of how the end times would be;
Matthew 24:37-39 NKJV — “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, “and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
What was happening in the days of Noah? Jesus tells us that the world during the latter days will be the same as it was then. Why was the ark built?
Genesis 6:5-8 NKJV — Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
One man and his family had found to be just and close to God, but was there anyone else?
Genesis 6:11-14 NKJV — The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. “Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
The parallels between the world in Noah’s time and the world of today is astounding. It took Noah nearly 100 years to build and complete the ark and during that time the people of the earth ignored the obvious sign that was given of the forthcoming judgment and as a result Noah, his family and the animals survived the flood and were saved.
Will the same fate be waiting for us or will we recognize the day that we live in and be ready for the Lord to return. The world has turned its back on God and believes that without God it’ll be just fine. Jesus is the Lord of our salvation and we must prepare ourselves and minister to those who need God. The Latter Days are here and soon Jesus our Lord and Saviour will return!
Matthew 24:30-31 NKJV — “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. “And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
