Volume 1 – Part 2
*The Perilous Times is a periodical report on the trials and tribulations that the followers of Jesus Christ and ministries of the Gospel are experiencing around the world. We ask for prayer and God’s protection for those involved in our Lord’s Great Commission* 2 Timothy 3:1 NKJV — But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
Sudan –
The Sudanese government has continued to persecute and harass Christians in an attempt to take over or shut down Christian churches in the region. The government has repeatedly oppressed the Christian community by interfering with their land and places of worship. In 2014, officials made a statement that no new churches could be built in Sudan. Additionally, in 2012, the Ministry of Endowment canceled the democratically elected committee that had been in place since 1902 to oversee church property, and appointed a corrupt committee that sold most of the church’s land. The Administration court issued a decision, in February 2015, ruling that the ministry has no right to appoint this committee and the elected committee had the legal power to deal with church land.
Unfortunately, the Sudanese government has not implemented the court’s decision and has allowed the corrupt committee to remain in power. Now the the illegitimate committee intends to sell off the church land after demolition of the buildings in order to reap a profit. If relief is not granted to these churches, over 25 Sudanese Christian congregations will lose their beloved places of worship and community.
Egypt –
Matthew 24:9 NKJV — “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
Egypt has become a deadly place where the lives of innocent Christians are in immense danger. Radical Islamic terrorists have reportedly slaughtered 7 Christians as they were traveling by bus from a monastery. Even more disturbing is the victims were leaving the baptism of an innocent little baby. At least another 19 Christians were injured in the attack. The Islamic State terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack though it’s Amaaq news agency did not provide evidence of involvement, Reuters reports.
Just like in other regions of the African continent such as Kenya and Nigeria, evil jihadists working under the banner of ISIS have been waging a bloody campaign against Egypt’s Coptic Christians. Egypt’s President released a statement condemning the latest atrocities against Christians by these violent radicals, and vowed to bring them to justice.
The attacks by these radical Islamic terrorist groups are a result of the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these regions and they fear they are losing control of the people. Jesus tells us that the Gospel will be preached around the world and Islam, like all the other false religions, are realizing that it is a futile attempt to resist the love and saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We must continuously pray for all Christians as they stand for the one true God, The Great “I Am.” Jesus reminds us of what to expect during these perilous times;
Matthew 24:10-14 NKJV — “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. “But he who endures to the end shall be saved. “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
