Out of Step.

“Alone…”

I Peter 5:6-7 NKJV — Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of lllGod, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you

People in every direction. Everywhere you look there are people as far as the eye can see but they don’t seem to realize that you are there. All you want is someone to talk to but no one is listening. Why does it seem that no one wants to hear what you have to say? The experience you are going through may be caused by something you were involved in. A lapse in judgment, a wrong decision or an act of behavior that was completely out of character. Whatever the offense may have been, you knew it was wrong. You have tried to make things right. Apologies and asking for forgiveness wasn’t easy but it had to be done. You’re supposed to feel better, right? Why is the feeling of guilt not going away? Was the forgiveness you received real?

Psalm 103:10-13 NKJV — He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children,

So the LORD pities those who fear Him.

When we come before the Lord with a repentant heart we are seen as a new and changed person in the Lord’s eyes. He never holds your transgressions over your head, requires you to complete a 12 step program to be redeemed or jump through a ring of burning fire just to be free from sin and become a Christian. Many religious organizations and denominations may disagree but nowhere in the New Testament and the New Covenant does it say that you have to say 12 Hail Mary’s or a twelve week retreat or seminar to be forgiven.

Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV — “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Is it really that simple? Can we really just go to Jesus and put all our troubles in His hands? We make mistakes, some small, some monumental, but we all make them. The problem we have is usually ourselves. We can’t seem to let ourselves off the hook. We just can’t seem to understand why we fell into temptation. Knowing better and walking away is easier said than done. This wasn’t a speeding ticket or a forgotten promise you experienced, it was life changing. People were hurt and friends were lost. Extra-marital affairs, physical abuse or sexual indiscretions are devastating to one’s psyche and it can be a long road back to redemption if we try to do it on our own.

Jesus will meet you on that lonely road you’re on and bring you back to a life of purpose and importance. All we have to do is ask Him.

Mark 11:23-26 NKJV — “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Having faith in God and putting your trust in the Lord will bring you the peace you need. It really is that simple. The mountains in your life can be removed, obstacles will disappear and that uneasy feeling you have will go away as long as we continue to pray and trust the Lord for our deliverance.

Luke 23:42-43 NKJV — Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Look at the example of the thief that was crucified next to Jesus. While we still can breathe we can still turn to the Lord for redemption, even when there seems to be no hope, no chance, the promise of a new day is there before us through the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.

Let the joy of the Lord be in your heart and be revived that our Savior has put the past in the past and has given you a new day to walk closer to Him and to be a living testimony to others who need comfort and peace. Jesus loves you, come to Him and let Him put you back in step with your walk following Jesus.

Psalm 32:5 NKJV — I acknowledged my sin to You,

And my iniquity I have not hidden.

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”

And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
